Christian and I have come up with making a Duo Selfie Reflection as our Social Media Collaborative Project. Since my work has been exploring the reversal of time and of the material itself (reversed impasto), I thought this would be an interesting investigation on the reversal of selfies and reflection of languages, while stretching out to the other side of the globe. I also made a one in Wechat for my Chinese friends who have no access to facebook. One of my friends made a Wechat Platform without my consent on their art company marketing platform and posted on their Wechat timeline. It is an interesting extension of the project and brought unimaginable and uncontrollable audiences and results who would reach and participate in this fun activity.

DUO SELFIE REFLECTION

Help us with our homework! Myself and my fellow graduate student, Christian Gregory, have been asked to design and orchestrate a social media art project involving 25 people. We have chosen to make what we call a "Do Selfie Reflection," or duo portraits in which each person mirrors the expression of the other. Here is how you can make your selfie reflection and help us:
1) Select a willing partner or pal
2) Stand face to face
3) Use the duo portrait function on your phone (this function is on Samsung phones, for apple users please simply take a selfie each and we'll frame your dual, or download Split Pic for FREE)
4) Pose with a funny or peculiar face; encourage your partner to reflect that face!
5) Snap the photo
6) Upload to Facebook
7) Tag Christine Gregory and Catherine Lan
8) Invite others to do the same by cutting and pasting these instructions in your post
